About us…

Bill worked in the lumber and building materials industry for 47 years.  Now in retirement, he has embraced a new hobby—building windmills. This craft has become a meaningful way for him to stay mentally and physically active.

His creations, which include not only windmills but also lighthouses,  can now be found adorning gardens and yards in communities across Ontario—from Sudbury and Port Perry to Woodstock, London, Ottawa and many places in between.

Bill is grateful to the many people who have supported and encouraged his passion for his hobby. He is especially thankful to his wife, Betty, for her unwavering support—not just in this hobby, but also in his other passion: model railroading.

To see his train layout online, check it out on YouTube by searching for John Street Railroad.

Client Testimonials

Don’t take our word for it – here’s what our clients say:

Thank you Bill, for building our windmill and lighthouse. My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with the craftsmanship of our windmill and lighthouse and added touch with the working light. The attention to detail was incredible, and the final product exceeded our expectations. When family and friends visit and come into our backyard the first thing they notice is the windmill and lighthouse and right away ask where they can buy one, never mind the pool anymore, I would definitely send them your way as your workmanship is impeccable and I’m confident you will have happy clients”

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the sails be removed?

A: Yes, the sails are easily removable. All you need are two ¾” wrenches and a bit of muscle. Important: When reinstalling the sails, be sure to include both the ½” fender washers and ½” lock washers with the fasteners. This ensures the sails remain securely attached.

Is delivery available?

A: Yes, delivery is available, but only locally—within a 20 km radius of 4661 John Street. A nominal fee, agreed upon with the purchaser, will apply.

How can I prevent my windmill from tipping over?

A: We recommend securing the windmill to a concrete patio stone using concrete screws. For a medium-sized windmill, 2–3 screws should be sufficient. Without proper anchoring, the windmill may tip over in strong winds.
